Police seek public’s help to identify deceased woman

Darpan News Desk Richmond RCMP, 19 Jul, 2022 09:37 AM
  • Police seek public’s help to identify deceased woman

On May 2, 2022, Richmond RCMP attended a marina in the 6900 block of Graybar Road (along the south arm of the Fraser River in east Richmond) where a woman had been located deceased.

Since that time, the Richmond RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) and the BC Coroners Service have been working to identify the woman without success.

Today a composite sketch of the woman has been released in hopes someone will recognize her.

She is described as:

  • A Caucasian female;
  • 30 to 40 years of age;
  • 5’5” tall;
  • 90 lbs; with
  • Brown eyes;
  • Shoulder length, curly dark hair;
  • Missing teeth on her upper left side; and
  • Last wearing a purple or dark blue sweater with gold threading.

Corporal Ian Henderson says, “We are hoping that by releasing this sketch, a family member, friend or acquaintance will be able to help us identify her.   It is important that we find her next-of-kin, so they can be properly notified of her passing,” says Henderson.

The deceased woman was located on an older 40 foot yacht which was in dry dock at the marina.

At this time, her death is not considered suspicious.

Anyone who may recognize this woman is asked to call Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212 and quote file number 2022-11448.

Should you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or visit them online at www.solvecrime.ca.
