Investigators say a man described as six feet tall and 40 to 50 years old is believed to have been in the area where Michael Gibbon was found on Monday morning.

Waterloo Regional police said they were called to the neighbourhood around 7 a.m. that day and found Gibbon lying on the ground outside a home.

He was reportedly out on an early-morning walk when he was hit.

Police are treating Gibbon's death as a homicide and said his injuries were not self-inflicted.

The killing has rattled the community and police are urging people to stay vigilant as it's not known whether the public is at risk.
