Police Say Woman, Man Mauled By 2 Dogs In Home In British Columbia

The Canadian Press, 30 Dec, 2015 02:18 PM
FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Mounties in northern British Columbia say two dogs who got into a home and mauled a couple was like a movie.

Fort St. John RCMP say a frantic woman called 911 late Christmas Day saying two dogs — not theirs — had killed her cat and were now trying to kill her and her husband, then the call ended.

When officers entered the home, they saw a 66-year-old man being "brutally attacked" by the dogs and a 51-year-old woman suffering from dog bites.

Mounties shot one dog, while the other escaped, but was tracked down and killed.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment and the man was airlifted outside the city for medical care.

Mounties say they are still trying to piece together what led to the attack and are asking anybody with information to call them.
