Police Say Liesel The 12-Day-Old Filly Was Filched From A Langley, B.C., Farm

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 08 Aug, 2016 02:06 PM
LANGLEY, B.C. — Liesel, the 12-day-old filly, is missing and police in Langley, B.C., say they believe she was snatched from under her mother's nose.

Although she's young, the horse's warmblood Oldenburg breed makes her valued at between $10,000 and $20,000.

Police say the filly was put out to pasture under her mother's protection for the first time overnight on Sunday.

But there's some indication the mare may have been sedated, allowing someone to take the young horse.

RCMP say the sedation leads them to believe the thief had some knowledge of horses.

Liesel is light brown, has three white socks and a bald-face marking, or a wide white stripe, down her face.
