On Tuesday, at approximately noon, New Westminster Police responded to a shooting that occurred in the 700 block of Carnarvon Street.
The response prompted a large police presence at the Royal Columbian Hospital.
A man is being treated for non-life threatening injuries and two suspects are in police custody.
The Major Crime Unit has since taken conduct of this investigation.
The condemnation of the actions that led to Tyre Nichols' death came as authorities in Memphis, Tenn., released a video of what happened. The footage shows officers holding Nichols down and striking him repeatedly as he screamed for his mother.
Adrian Dix says the premiers had long been asking to meet Justin Trudeau as they call on Ottawa to boost its contributions through the Canada Health Transfer.
