On Tuesday, at approximately noon, New Westminster Police responded to a shooting that occurred in the 700 block of Carnarvon Street.
The response prompted a large police presence at the Royal Columbian Hospital.
A man is being treated for non-life threatening injuries and two suspects are in police custody.
The Major Crime Unit has since taken conduct of this investigation.
Education Minister Jennifer Whiteside says families are already struggling with rising costs due to inflation and the government's fund aims to take the sting out of costs associated with the return to school next month. A semi truck was travelling westbound on Highway 17 when the driver smelled smoke. After the driver pulled over, the vehicle ignited into flames. The subsequent fire resulted in the vehicle sustaining major damage.
