Police Investigating Fatal Daylight Shooting In Surrey’s Clayton Heights, Release Video Footage Of Suspect

    Surrey RCMP is advising the public of a homicide which occurred in Clayton Heights.


    At approximately 6:00 pm on September 28, 2019, Surrey RCMP responded after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting in the 18600-block of Fraser Highway.


    Frontline officers attended and located one male suffering from an apparent gun-shot wound. Despite efforts by first responders and paramedics the man succumbed to his injuries.

     

     

    The Surrey RCMP Serious Crime Unit is currently on scene and IHIT has been engaged.


    Later that night, at about 10 p.m., Burnaby RCMP got a report of a burned silver sedan in the area of Willingdon Avenue and Kemp Street.


    IHIT said the vehicle may be associated with shooting, and investigators are now looking for witnesses who may have been in the area or who might have dash cam video of the area near Willingdon Avenue and Kemp Street between 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

     

     


    “Our investigators and partners are diligently collecting the evidence, and a phone call from the right witness could be the difference-maker in this case,” IHIT Sgt. Frank Jang said in a press release.

     

    The investigation is in its early stages however this shooting appears to be a targeted incident.


    Of interest to police are two specific times and areas:

    18600-block of Fraser Highway in Surrey between 5:30 p.m and 6:30 p.m.Willingdon Avenue and Kemp Street between 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.
