Police Investigating After Newfoundland Boy, 13, Finds Body In Woods Near School

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 19 Apr, 2016 11:51 AM
ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Police in St. John's, N.L., say a 13-year-old boy playing soccer near his school made a startling discovery today — an adult body in the woods nearby.

Const. Geoff Higdon of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says there's no public danger as the investigation continues.

The boy called police from Beaconsfield Junior High School after finding the corpse.

Higdon did not confirm the gender of the deceased as police try to notify family members.

He says it's too early to confirm if the death was at all suspicious.

The school was briefly cordoned off as forensic officers investigated.
