Police Investigating After Body Found Near Popular Vancouver Beach

The Canadian Press, 13 Jun, 2018 11:16 AM
VANCOUVER — Police say a body has been found in the water near a popular beach in Vancouver.

RCMP say the coast guard was called Monday after a boater passed what he believed to be a body near Wreck Beach.

Police and the BC Coroners Service are now working to confirm the identity of the deceased.

The Mounties say a sailboat and a rowboat believed to be associated with the case have been towed to a nearby marina.

They say the investigation is in the preliminary stages and few details are available.

Wreck Beach is located near the University of British Columbia, and is known for being clothing-optional.
