Police Investigate Sexual Assault Of Teen Girl On Abbotsford School Grounds

    Investigators are seeking witnesses, CCTV and dashcam footage in relation to a sexual assault that occurred on the evening of Wednesday, January 17, 2018.
     
     
    At 6:00 pm, Abbotsford Police Patrol Officers responded to a reported sexual assault that occurred on the grounds of John Maclure Elementary School in the 2900 block of Oriole Crescent. The victim was walking through the school’s playing field when the male suspect approached her from behind and pushed her down. The victim was able to free herself, and ran southbound across George Ferguson Way to an open business, where she received help.
     
     
    The suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his 30-40s, with a scruffy beard. He is approximately 5’11” tall, medium build and weighs approximately 175 lbs. The suspect was wearing dark jeans, a zip up hoodie with the words “Dry Fit” on the back.
     
     
    At this time, investigators believe that the victim and the suspect do not know each other. Anyone with information about this incident or the suspect’s identity is encouraged to contact APD.
     
     
    In particular, investigators are requesting that anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage of George Ferguson way between Oriole Crescent/ Garden Street and Gladwin Road, taken between 6:00 pm and 6:30 pm on January 17, 2018, contact us.
