Police Investigate Horrific Stabbing Incidents In East Vancouver And Burnaby That Sent 4 To Hospital

The Canadian Press, 08 Aug, 2015 01:10 PM
VANCOUVER — Police in Metro Vancouver are dealing with the aftermath of a violent Friday night after two separate stabbings sent four men to hospital.

Vancouver Police responded around 11 p.m. to Fraserview Hall in the city's south end for a report of a large brawl.

Those involved in the fight had left by the time officers arrived, but about 10 minutes later paramedics received a call about a man who had been stabbed several blocks away.

Sgt. Randy Fincham says the victim was not cooperative with police but is believed to be from the hall, and he was transferred to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Fincham says no arrests have been made in the case and the investigation is ongoing.

Meantime, Burnaby RCMP responded at 10:45 p.m. to a report of a fight outside a party on Kingsway Avenue near Macpherson Avenue.

Sgt. Steve Hoivik says three male victims are in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, though one is in serious but stable condition.

He says two suspects have been arrested and are in custody, but have not yet been charged.

Burnaby RCMP are asking anyone who witnessed the brawl or has information to come forward.
