Darpan News Desk, 28 Sep, 2016 01:31 PM
New Westminster – On Tuesday September 27th 2016 at approximately 4:55pm, the New Westminster Police Department responded to 12th Street and 6th Avenue for a report of pedestrian struck collision.

When officers arrived, an injured adult female was located, but the vehicle that struck her was no longer on scene.

The female was transported to a local area hospital, while officers canvassed for witnesses and surveyed the scene for evidence.

“Thankfully, the pedestrian’s injuries were not life threatening. Our officers continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision and are interested in speaking with anyone who may have witnessed the event,” stated Media Relations Officer Acting Sergeant Jeff Scott.

“At this point, we believe the suspect vehicle is a newer black sedan. This incident serves as a general reminder for pedestrians to exercise caution while crossing the street.”
