Police Investigate Apparent Murder Of 55-year-old Woman In Vancouver Island Home

    LADYSMITH, B.C. — Police in Ladysmith, B.C., are investigating the apparent murder of a 55-year-old woman.
     
    RCMP say a 911 caller reported that several people were involved in a fight at a home around midnight on Tuesday.
     
    An ambulance was dispatched, but the woman died at the scene.
     
    Police say a 50-year-old man is in custody but hasn't been charged.
     
    RCMP say the man knew the victim and that her death is being treated as a homicide.
