Police Find Body In Makeshift Camp, Close To Abbotsford's Highstreet Shopping Centre

    ABBOTSFORD, B.C. — A body has been found in a makeshift camp near a shopping mall in B.C.'s Fraser Valley.
     
    Abbotsford police Const. Ian MacDonald says a citizen came across the body in a wooded area and called police on Friday afternoon.
     
    MacDonald says a patrol officer arrived and found the deceased person in what appeared to be a makeshift camp.
     
    The location given by police is close to homes, the Highstreet Shopping Centre and the Trans-Canada Highway in Abbotsford.
     
    MacDonald says police and forensic units are on scene and it will take some time to determine the cause of death.
