Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 08 May, 2015 08:11 PM
SURREY, B.C. — Police in suburban Vancouver say the pilot of a small plane has died in a crash.

Sgt. Dale Carr of the Surrey RCMP detachment says the aircraft went down on Friday afternoon, just north of Highway 99.

He says emergency officials responded to the scene and found the man dead at the scene.

Carr says witnesses reported seeing the plane flying northwest and turning to go east when it went down.

A man who answered the phone at the King George Aviation Flight School declined to comment but said he'd be making a statement later.

The BC Coroners Service and the Transportation Safety Board have been advised the crash.
