More than 800 people attended the event including Canada’s National Defence Minister, Honourable Harjit Singh Sajjan who was also the key note speaker.

Minister Sajjan was accompanied by his wife and parents and emphasized how important it was for organizations like PICS to take leadership and build a home which caters to the needs of seniors in a culturally sensitive manner.

“PICS Diversity Village is a fantastic project. As demographics are changing considerably, the need for more and more culturally sensitive services are urgently required and I am glad to support this project,” said Minister Sajjan.

Other notable personalities included Provincial cabinet ministers Suzanne Anton, Peter Fassbender and Amrik Virk and her worship, Surrey Mayor Linda Hepner and many other MPs, MLAs, community leaders and friends of PICS.
