Phone left at New Westminster skytrain had pornographic images, man now facing charges

A 61-year-old man who accidentally left his cellphone at a New Westminster SkyTrain station is now facing child porn charges.
A statement from the Transit Police says pornography was found on the phone when it was searched for contact information, so it could be returned.
Another passenger found the phone in late 2021 and the investigation began soon after -- including a search warrant of the man's home last year that uncovered thousands of images of child porn on two computer hard drives.
The Coquitlam man now faces two pornography related charges and has been released under strict conditions while awaiting his next court date later this month.
A 25-year-old man has been charged with dangerous driving causing death after an unoccupied cargo truck hit and killed a pedestrian in Surrey, B.C.
