The province says its PharmaCare program now covers medications used to treat rare diseases such as A-L-S.
The Ministry of Health says the oral form of edaravone, which is used to treat A-L-S patients, will be added to the PharmaCare formulary as a limited-coverage benefit.
Two other drugs are also being added under the "Expensive Drugs for Rare Diseases" process.
Givosiran is used to treat A-H-P -- a metabolic disease -- while triheptanoin helps patients with rare genetic disorders.
The service says Highway 20 north of Bella Coola was closed Sunday evening as the fire that was discovered near Young Creek just the day before swelled to 22-square kilometres in size. Vancouver police say a 57-year-old man has been charged after a racially motivated incident at a city coffee shop. They say it happened on Tuesday at a shop on West Pender and Abbott. The suspect has been charged with causing a disturbance.
