Pedestrian struck and killed in early morning crash in Abbotsford on Hwy 1

Abbotsford Police say a pedestrian has been pronounced dead after sustaining fatal injuries in a collision on Hwy 1. The accident took place just before 3am on Hwy 1 Westbound between the Clearbrook and McCallum Rd exits. The driver called 911 and is cooperating with police.

Speed and alcohol are not considered factors in the crash. The highway was shut down due to the crash but was re-opened at 7:45am. Investigators are looking for dashcam footage & witnesses.
As of Sept. 10, Ontario reported 1,817 resident deaths from COVID-19, compared to 156 deaths in B.C. The number of cases among LTC residents in Ontario totaled nearly 6,000 compared to 466 in B.C.
