B.C.'s police watchdog is now investigating after a car hit a pedestrian in downtown Vancouver.
Investigators with the Independent Investigations Office were called to the scene this morning where roads had been closed for several hours.
Witnesses say the person was hit, they saw a police vehicle chasing a car that had been driving erratically -- but it's unclear if that's related to the collision.
The injuries to the pedestrian remain unclear.
British Columbia's Opposition leader is promising to immediately cut the provincial carbon tax on all fuels and stop planned future increases if elected to form government next year.
