  • Pedestrian hit by a vehicle lands in hospital

On Thursday evening at around 7:30pm, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on 72 Avenue near 128 Street.

A pedestrian who stepped off the curb, outside of a marked crosswalk, to cross the street was struck by a vehicle heading west bound on 72 Avenue. The pedestrian was transported to local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Via release, Mounties say the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Speed and alcohol are not deemed to be factors in the collision.

The investigation is ongoing as investigators gather traffic camera footage and witness accounts.

72 Avenue between 130 Street and 128 Street was closed to westbound traffic for a short period of time.

Anyone with more information, including dash cam footage around the area, is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP.
