Vancouver police say a 38-year-old city man has died of his injuries after being hit by a car Saturday evening.
They say the man was struck by a Honda Civic around 7 p.m. while the crossing East 57 Avenue mid-block, near Prince Edward Street.
Police say the man died a short time later in hospital.
His name was not immediately released.
Investigators say the driver of the car remained at the scene and is co-operating with police.
They also say that alcohol does not appear to have been a factor.
"The previous government believed in handing out OSAP funding to some of Ontario's highest income earners rather than focus student grants to those individuals who needed it the most," she said Thursday.
