Pedestrian dies in vehicle crash

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 01 Nov, 2024 10:12 AM
  • Pedestrian dies in vehicle crash

Ridge Meadows Mounties say a female pedestrian died last week after being struck by a vehicle in one of three crashes involving cyclists or pedestrians in the area in the last seven days.

Police say the fatal crash happened on Lougheed Highway on October 25th, when the 49-year-old victim from Pitt Meadows died at the scene despite live-saving efforts from emergency workers.

The crash was followed by another pedestrian being struck on 232 Street on October 30th where the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, as well as a cyclist being hit on the same day on Lougheed Highway resulting in minor injuries.

Police are urging motorists to use caution as the weather changes, as visibility conditions could be compromised as winter approaches.
