Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit By A Vehicle In East Vancouver On Monday Evening

    VANCOUVER — A man in his 60s has been hit and killed while crossing a street in east Vancouver.


    He was crossing at an uncontrolled intersection on busy East 49th Avenue at Frederick Street.


    Police say he was hit just after 6:30 Monday evening.


    He was rushed to hospital but could not be saved.


    A news release issued by police says the driver remained at the scene and is co-operating with investigators.


    The death of the unnamed man marks Vancouver's fourth pedestrian fatality of 2019.
