Drivers are reminded that the Pattullo Bridge between Surrey and New Westminster will be closed in both directions starting on Thursday, April 6, at 10 p.m. and reopening on Tuesday, April 11, at 5 a.m.

The bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic to allow the Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project to complete soil densification activities and relocation of the seismic warning system. TransLink will conduct sign relocation, line painting, concrete patching and routine bridge inspections during this time.

Drivers should take the Port Mann or Alex Fraser bridges as alternate routes. Pedestrians, cyclists and emergency services will be able to use the bridge at all times.

Northbound and southbound N19 NightBus trips will be rerouted over the Queensborough and Alex Fraser bridges. Customers can visit www.translink.ca for schedule information on the TransLink Trip Planning web page and on the bus schedules page. Henry Paul Wiens, 52, was arrested early Saturday morning by VPD officers working in the downtown core. Wiens had been wanted since February 15 for the alleged assault of a 93-year-old man who was knocked to the ground on Main Street on October 11.
