Pastor at Lutheran church in Edmonton faces child porn charges

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 17 Oct, 2014 11:23 AM

EDMONTON - Police in Edmonton say a Lutheran Church pastor faces child pornography charges.

Richard John Docekal, who is 58, faces charges of possession and distribution of child porn.

A spokesman with the Lutheran Church of Canada's district office says Docekal had been with All Saints Lutheran Church in Edmonton for at least five years.

Rev. Glenn Schaeffar says Docekal resigned a few weeks ago.

Police say an investigation began in early September after receiving a tip from the public.

Docekal was arrested last week and computer and mobile devices were seized.
