  • Parminder Singh Brar & Simarpal Singh of Surrey charged with aggravated assault

Mounties in Surrey say two men have been charged after an altercation in the city on Friday left a man with life-threatening injuries.

They say officers responded to multiple reports of a man walking around a parking lot with a machete, which he allegedly used to strike a vehicle.

The R-C-M-P say that prompted an altercation with the people in that vehicle, which sent a 55-year-old man to hospital with serious injuries.

On the evening of Wednesday, the 55-year-old victim died in hospital.

The police say a 31-year-old, Parminder Singh Brar, and a 21-year-old, Simarpal Singh, were both charged with aggravated assault and remain in custody.
