Police in Burnaby have confirmed a fire in a building overnight has killed one person. Burnaby RCMP say officers received a call from firefighters to assist at the scene near Metrotown Mall on Tuesday night.
Police confirmed one fatality in the fire and that the B-C Coroners Service has taken over the investigation.
No information has been released on other injuries or potential causes of the fire
B-C United M-L-A Elenore Sturko says she and other lawmakers got an unwelcome Christmas gift this year from local drug activist Dana Larsen. Sturko says she was offended to receive a Christmas package containing psilocybin mushrooms and a coca leaf, which Larsen offers at local dispensaries.

TransLink says its new R-6 Scott Road RapidBus is now cruising the streets on what it calls the busiest bus corridor south of the Fraser.
