Kelowna Mounties say an operation targeting shoplifters over a seven-day period this month resulted in more than 50 arrests.
Police say the operation was in response to concerns from Kelowna's retail sector about theft and violence at stores.
The operation started on December 8th to identify shoplifters, and police say it resulted in more than 50 arrests and about 10-thousand-dollars of merchandise recovered.
A similar operation by the Richmond R-C-M-P targeting shoplifters resulted in 15 arrests in one day, on December 15th.
