Ottawa police investigate city's third shooting in just four days

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 29 Dec, 2014 06:51 PM

Ottawa police are investigating the city's third shooting in four days.

A police spokesman says the department's guns and gangs unit is combing a suburban area where numerous shots were fired Monday afternoon and a male under 20 was wounded.

Staff Sgt. Patrick McCaffery says the victim was conscious when he was taken to hospital.

The shooting happened about 15 hours after a man was wounded by gunfire at a downtown intersection early Monday morning.

On Boxing Day, a man in his early 20s was shot in the foot at a suburban shopping mall.

Ottawa police have said the mall shooting was a targeted attack involving people associated with the same Crips street gang.
