HAMILTON — Police in Ontario say a 16-year-old girl who was taken to Mexico and hadn't been seen since last July has been reunited with her family.

Hamilton police say the girl, who has severe epilepsy and needs medication, was reported missing on Aug. 1, 2017, but hadn't been seen since July 18 of that year.

They say the girl was believed to have left the country with her uncle on Aug. 15, and ended up in Mexico.

Investigators say she returned to the United States on Saturday, and was found by the FBI.

Police say she was reunited with her mother in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Investigators did not say whether any charges would be laid.
