Surrey RCMP is investigating a shooting at a residence that has left one female victim with injuries.

On Friday, July 8 at 3:41 a.m., Surrey RCMP responded to the report of shots fired at a residence in the 8600-block of 151B Street. Police attended and located evidence consistent with a shooting.

A 40-year-old woman who was inside the residence suffered non-life threatening injuries and is in stable condition recovering in hospital.

The Surrey RCMP General Investigation Unit has taken conduct of the investigation. The investigation is in the early stages and police are still working to determine a possible motive for this shooting.

Police are looking for information about a male suspect, dressed all in black, carrying a backpack and flashlight, who is believed to have fled the area on foot. Investigators are canvassing the area for CCTV footage or those who may have dash cam footage from the area that could assist with this investigation.
