One person is in police custody after a tractor rolled over on Surrey's Highway 1.

BC Highway Patrol members encountered a person driving a tractor on Highway 1 at approximately 12:35pm on Saturday.

Police say the person driving the tractor was possibly involved in a protest.

The police attempted to stop the tractor, resulting in a collision with a police vehicle.

The tractor rolled over after trying to take the Highway 1 westbound on-ramp, and BC Highway Patrol members called Surrey RCMP for assistance.

Police say the person in police custody was also taken to the hospital with yet to be determined injuries.
