One of Canada’s most wanted arrested by Coquitlam RCMP

Darpan News Desk Coquitlam RCMP, 04 Mar, 2021 11:26 PM
  • One of Canada’s most wanted arrested by Coquitlam RCMP

The Coquitlam RCMP has arrested a 30-year-old man wanted on a Canada wide warrant for first-degree murder.

Coquitlam RCMP received a call regarding a domestic disturbance in the 3000-block of Sechelt Drive, Coquitlam at approximately 7:00 a.m., on February 26, 2021. Police attended the residence and through the investigation identified Amin Yussuf, who has four outstanding warrants from a homicide that occurred in Edmonton on March 24, 2019. Amin Yussuf has been on Canada’s most wanted list since January 2020.

This arrest would not have been possible without the collaboration and partnerships between our specialized units at the Coquitlam RCMP and Edmonton Police Service Homicide Section, says Constable Deanna Law Media Relations Officer with the Coquitlam RCMP. We are pleased that the coordinated efforts of both agencies involved resulted in an arrest of a dangerous offender involved in violent crimes in Edmonton.

Yussuf was transported back to Edmonton on March 3, 2021. Coquitlam RCMP will continue to work with the Edmonton Police Service.
