  • One Man Is Dead After Allegedly Stolen Canoe Flips On Quebec's Blueberry Lake
LABELLE, Que. — A man in his 20s is dead after a canoe he and a friend allegedly stole capsized on a lake in Quebec's Laurentian region.
 
According to provincial police, the man and a friend most likely stole the canoe from a resort in Labelle late Friday or early Saturday.
 
Their nighttime ride turned deadly after the canoe flipped over for unknown reasons.
 
One of the men was able to swim to shore and contacted police early Saturday morning.
 
Emergency responders transported the second man to hospital, where he died.
 
Neither man was wearing a life jacket.
