Police in Surrey say a crash early Sunday morning claimed one life and closed a portion of 144th Street.
R-C-M-P say the two-vehicle collision happened just before 5 A-M Sunday at the intersection of 144th and 62nd Avenue.
Police say a person was pronounced dead at the scene after attempts to save them failed.
The force's criminal collision investigation team and its analysis and reconstruction service were on scene to investigate the cause of the deadly crash.
One person has been injured in a shooting in Vancouver's downtown core, the second such incident in the area in less than a week. Vancouver police say officers responded to reports of shots fired at around 7:50 p.m. Wednesday, and found a person with serious injuries.
Police in Victoria are looking for a suspect who drove a stolen vehicle into a residence, causing significant property damage before fleeing the scene. A British Columbia man has been convicted for his involvement in an international online group dedicated to trafficking child pornography.
