One Dead After Shooting In Chilliwack

    On September 2, 2016 just before 8:00 pm, the Chilliwack RCMP received a report of shots fired in the area of the 48000 block of Chilliwack Central Road. 
     
    Uniformed officers arrived at the scene and located two victims who had suffered gunshot wounds. One of the victim’s succumbed to their injuries, and the second victim was transported to hospital by the BC Ambulance service with life threatening injuries.
     
    The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called, and has taken conduct of the investigation. IHIT is working closely with the Chilliwack RCMP to process the evidence, and the area surrounding the scene will be cordoned off for a significant amount of time.
     
    Cpl. Meghan FOSTER says The investigation is in its infancy, but from the evidence gathered so far the shooting appears to be targeted, and not a random act of violence. The victims’ names will be not released as the next of kin has yet to be notified.
