Vancouver police say one person was briefly taken into custody yesterday during protests and counter-protests related to including sexual orientation and gender identity supports in B-C schools.
Police say the arrest happened during a confrontation between opposing groups but they say there were no significant public safety issues.
Two people were arrested in Victoria during a similar encounter and in Prince George, a man opposed to L-G-B-T-Q issues was arrested for pushing a speaker at a rally supporting inclusion of all gender identities.
The person who was pushed says they will pursue charges against the suspect.
Eby, cabinet ministers Josie Osborne and Brenda Bailey, and minister of state for trade, Jagrup Brar, will travel to Japan, Korea, Singapore and Vietnam. Meetings are set with government and economic leaders in all four countries.

Police say a school bus tipped over on B.C.’s Sunshine Coast, sending the driver to the hospital with minor injuries. The crash happened at 8:37 a.m. on the side of Highway 101 in Madeira Park, about 100 kilometres northwest of Vancouver.
