Okanagan Teen Shaken But Ok After Attempted Abduction In Peachland

The Canadian Press, 11 Aug, 2015 11:12 AM
  • Okanagan Teen Shaken But Ok After Attempted Abduction In Peachland
PEACHLAND, B.C. — A search is underway in the Okanagan for two men suspected of the attempted kidnapping of a 15-year-old girl.

West Kelowna RCMP Cpl. Joe Duncan says the incident happened Saturday night in Peachland, on the west side of Okanagan Lake, about 25 kilometres southwest of Kelowna.

Investigators say the teen reported two men approached her near a pedestrian tunnel close to Highway 97 and one grabbed her wrists while the other tried to push her into the tunnel.

Another woman entered the tunnel, interrupting the incident, and the teen was not harmed, but the men fled in a black car with Alberta licence plates.

Duncan says the young victim tells them she does not know her attackers.

The men are described as Caucasian, about 30 to 40-years-old, both wearing hoodies, one red or burgundy and the other black, with a zipper and white drawstring.
