The North Vancouver RCMP are looking for witnesses and dash-cam footage in an effort to further their investigation of a fatal collision involving a cyclist and a commercial vehicle. The collision occurred shortly before 10:30 am on Monday at the intersection of Lonsdale Ave and 23rd St in North Vancouver.

North Vancouver RCMP officers were en route to an unrelated matter when they came upon the collision, where a woman had suffered significant injuries. “Officers immediately applied life saving measures on the cyclist, however, tragically, she was pronounced deceased by medical personnel a short time later,” said Cst. Mansoor Sahak of the North Vancouver RCMP.

The cyclist has been identified as a resident of North Vancouver in her 40’s. Police are in the process of conducting a next of kin notification.

The driver of the commercial vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.

Anyone who witnessed or has video of the collision is asked to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604 985 1311.
