No alcohol at Van beaches

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 01 Sep, 2023 12:35 PM
  • No alcohol at Van beaches

The City of Vancouver is cautioning people to stop consuming alcohol on beaches starting next week as a three-month pilot program comes to an end.

The city's park board says alcohol consumption on Vancouver beaches will no longer be legal as of this coming Tuesday.

The three-month pilot program was designed to test the effects of responsible drinking at seven city beaches over the summer.

City staff say they are now reviewing the findings from the program on issues such as safety and cleanliness, and the results will be sent to the park board to aid future decisions on allowing alcohol on Vancouver beaches.
