Ninth day of public strike for federal workers

A ninth day of striking is set to dawn for federal public service workers looking for a new contract.

The head of the Public Service Alliance of Canada says the government has yet to change their position on wage demands.

National President Chris Aylward says his workers deserve a raise that keeps up with inflation and the current offer of nine per cent over three years doesn't cut it.

Talks have stalled. This gov't says it cares about restoring services for Canadians, but they seem content to shrug it off and prolong this strike.

He has also called for the prime minister to get directly involved in the talks.

84 year old woman in hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a flatbed truck

The victim was crossing Cambie Street at West 41st Avenue at 9 a.m. on February 14 when she was struck by a flatbed transport truck that was making a right turn to head south on Cambie. She sustained serious injuries, and remains in hospital.
