Nilesh Vikamsey, VP of ICAI visited BC for the 2016 Chapter

    In the capacity of a Council Member, Nilesh Vikamsey has served the ICAI and the accountancy profession as Chairman of Board of Studies, Financial Reporting Review Board, Research Committee and Expert Advisory committee. He has also passionately represented the profession on the international front at a number of global meetings and conferences. A propagator of harnessing professional skills for the growth of the nation and society, he has also been closely associated with and contributed to Indian Merchants Chamber, The Chamber of Tax Consultants, and Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry. 
     
    During his meeting with- Hon’ble Rajiv K.Chander, Consul General of India, Councillor Sav Dhaliwal, ICAI members representing professional, financial and other organizations in BC, senior leaders of the international public accounting firms and financial institutions, accomplished executives and entrepreneurs from the Indo-Canadian business community, Vikamsey touched on a number of key reforms being made by the Indian Government to simplify regulatory environment in India for investors. He also focused on the fastest growing service sector in India and opportunities for the professionals. 
     
    On his welcome address, Mr. Vijay Kumar Gupta, Chairman of British Columbia Chapter of ICAI mentioned that the Chapter is a not-for-profit organization incorporated under the Society Act for the Alumni of ICAI with the primary objective of providing networking and professional development opportunities across British Columbia. The Chapter believes strongly in facilitating the integration process of Indian Chartered Accountants immigrating to Canada. Towards this end, in the last one year, besides mentoring support and conducting focus workshops, the Chapter has organized three social events to build a community of likeminded professionals to contribute positively to the growth of the Canadian economy. Thanking the participants, Mr. Deepak Arora, Vice Chairman of the Chapter said that the visit of Vikamsey will create a meaningful atmosphere to strengthen the Chapter’s objectives and that it will soon be launching an E-Kit for the benefit of new comers to Canada.
