New Westminster Police Seize Drugs And Cash

    New Westminster – In March of 2016, the New Westminster Police Department received information from the RCMP advising of possible drug activity with connections to New Westminster. 
     
    The NWPD Street Crime Unit commenced an investigation into this activity, during the course of which, evidence of drug trafficking was obtained and a significant quantity of illicit drugs were seized.
     
    On June 14th, 2016 the Street Crime Unit executed of a number of search warrants at locations around the Lower Mainland, resulting in the additional seizure of a significant amount of drugs and cash.
     
    The male suspect who was the focus of the investigation was taken into custody and has since been released pending the approval of formal charges.
     
    The NWPD would like to thank the Coquitlam, Surrey and Upper Fraser Valley RCMP detachments as well as the Canada Border Services Agency and Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team for their assistance in this investigation.
     
    Further information will be released once charges have been approved.
