Police in New Westminster are looking for witnesses of an assault they believe may have been a targeted attack.
They say it happened near the intersection of Carnarvon Street and Alexander Street early yesterday.
The victim was taken to hospital with significant but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say they believe two people armed with weapons are responsible for the assault and are canvassing the area for C-C-T-V footage of the suspects.
She says the recommendation results from a "biased and unlevel playing field," and an attempt to "control a situation in which an underdog candidate out-organized the front-runner, signing up many more members in just 25 days."
A statement from the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says the bodies of 24-year-old Kiesha Garie and 30-year-old Umair Kasim were inside the vehicle, parked in a neighbourhood in northwest Burnaby.
