Surrey's High Risk Sex Offender Faces New Sex Assault Charge In Jail

Darpan News Desk Darpan, 14 Nov, 2014 10:28 AM
SURREY, B.C. — RCMP have approved a new charge against a man described by police as a high-risk sex offender.

Mounties in Surrey say 24-year-old Jeffery Goddard is charged with one count of sexual assault.

They say the charge, which remains to be tested in court, stems from a complaint of an incident at Surrey Pre-trial Centre on Oct. 4.

Police say Goddard was in custody after allegedly repeatedly breaching conditions in connection with previous sex-related convictions.

B.C.’s Ministry of Justice released a public notification warning that Goddard has a criminal history when he first moved to Surrey.

The ministry said in March 2013 that his convictions include sexual offences against both boys and girls, using fake online identities to lure minors and impersonating a police officer.
