New Date Set For Case Of Surrey Mountie Charged With Child Luring

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 20 Oct, 2016 11:14 AM
SURREY, B.C. — The case of an RCMP officer charged with child luring has been put over to Nov. 2 in B.C. provincial court.

Const. Dario Devic was represented by his lawyer Wednesday during a brief court hearing in Surrey to fix the next court date.

A charge of child luring was approved by the Criminal Justice Branch earlier this week.

He is accused of communicating for sexual reasons with someone he believed was younger than 16.

None of the allegations have been proven in court.

Devic was arrested in Surrey on Sept. 9 after a group that calls itself Surrey Creep Catchers livestreamed a video of its members confronting a man who they alleged was planning to meet an underage girl.
