New Bus Service For Ferry Passengers As Vancouver-To-Victoria Line Changes Hands

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 29 Jan, 2016 01:16 PM
VANCOUVER — A new bus service will be moving BC Ferries passengers between Vancouver and Victoria starting Monday, but it will not be available for every sailing.

BC Ferries says that as of Feb. 1, The Wilson's Group will operate regularly scheduled service via the Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay route on three sailings each day.

Service will be increased between May and September.

BC Ferries hasn't said which three sailings will be served, instead referring customers to the bcfconnector.com website, though it is not operational until Monday.

Pacific Coach Lines has operated bus service between Vancouver and Victoria since 1978 but recently lost the contract to Wilson's Transportation.

That sparked job action at Pacific Coach Lines staff, and threats of pickets at ferry terminals over the busy Christmas period, but there were no disruptions.
