Nanaimo RCMP Searching For Man Accused Of Attempting To Abduct 15-Year-Old Girl

The Canadian Press, 05 Mar, 2016 12:48 PM
NANAIMO, B.C. — Nanaimo RCMP are asking the public for help identifying a man accused of attempting to abduct a 15-year-old girl from the parking lot of her home.

Mounties say the girl was taking the garbage out on Feb. 20 at around 11 p.m. when a man walked up to her, grabbed her shoulder and began to push her, telling her to start walking.

The girl told police she obeyed his command and started walking because she feared for her safety and believed she would be assaulted.

Police say the two walked through a paved pathway toward another apartment complex when the girl managed to jump a fence and run away unharmed.

She ran to the front door of a nearby home where she banged on the front door and had the homeowner call her mother, who picked her up and took her home.

The suspect is described as First Nations, about six feet two inches to six feet four inches tall, with black hair and bangs that hang low over his forehead.
