Nanaimo Businessman Tony Harris Named Liberal Candidate In Upcoming Byelection

    The B.C. Liberal leader Andrew Wilkinson has named local businessman Tony Harris as his party’s candidate in a critical byelection in Nanaimo.

     

    Tony Harris is an innovative entrepreneur, a dad of two, and a dedicated community builder who has spent his whole life working to take Nanaimo to the next level.

     

    He's not running because he needs a job -- like any parent, he's got his hands full! Tony agreed to run as the BC Liberal candidate because he believes Nanaimo has yet to reach its full potential and it's time to get BC back on track, and he knows this by-election is a critical opportunity to make that happen.

     
     
     
     

    The Nanaimo riding will be vacated by MLA Leonard Krog, who took the oath of office to become Nanaimo’s mayor on Monday. Harris was at Krog’s campaign launch and introduced Krog, endorsing him for mayor.

     

    The B.C. NDP has announced that Sheila Malcolmson will be seeking that party’s nomination to run in the byelection. Malcolmson is Nanaimo-Ladysmith MP.
